Launch of Ramadan Awareness Campaign in Hajjah’s Commercial Centers and Markets

Hajjah: The branch of the Yemeni Standardization, Metrology, and Quality Control Organization, in cooperation with the Office of Economy, Industry, and Investment in Hajjah Governorate, today launched the Ramadan field awareness campaign in commercial centers and markets.

According to Yemen News Agency, the campaign, lasting eight days, aims to educate and raise awareness among traders and consumers to enhance understanding of the importance of adhering to approved standard specifications. During the launch at the governorate center, the Deputy Governor, Ahmed Al-Akhfash, explained the importance of the campaign in raising the level of consumer culture and ensuring the circulation of safe goods that comply with technical requirements.

He praised the efforts of the Organization and the Office of Economy in supporting market stability, protecting consumers, and monitoring prices, urging cooperation with the Organization and the Office of Economy to ensure the achievement of desired goals. Meanwhile, the Directors of the Organization's branch in the governorate, Ali Al-Hajaji, and the Office of Economy, Mahmoud Wahban, pointed out that the campaign comes within the plans of the ministry and the Organization to enhance the culture of quality and spread social awareness.

They explained that the campaign also aims to verify weights, expiry dates, display and storage methods, and the extent of adherence to the prices approved by the ministry, preventing any manipulation or monopoly of goods, thus contributing to the protection of citizens.
