Al-dhale: The office of the General Zakat Authority in Al-Dhale Governorate today launched the Ramadan charity projects for the year 1447 AH, aimed at supporting 11,110 families with a total expenditure of 242,582,000 riyals.
According to Yemen News Agency, the charity projects encompass the distribution of Zakat al-Fitr to 4,004 families, amounting to 80,080,000 riyals. Additionally, cash assistance will be provided to 7,106 families, totaling 142,120,000 riyals, along with medical assistance and debt relief worth 20,320,000 riyals.
During the launch event, Acting Governor Abdul Latif Al-Shaghdari emphasized that these initiatives align with directives from the Leader of the Revolution, Sayyed Abdulmalik Badr al-Din al-Houthi, to support the poor and needy. He highlighted the significance of these humanitarian efforts in promoting social solidarity and underscored the role of zakat as a fundamental pillar in addressing the needs of the destitute. He also commended the Zakat Authority for their transparency in executing projects that directly benefit various districts within the governorate.
The launch event was attended by notable figures including the Governorate Security Director, Brigadier Hussein Al-Hamzi, and the Director of Damt District, Sultan Fadhel. Ahmed Al-Dahyani, Director of the General Zakat Authority office in Al-Dhale'e, explained the project's goal to strengthen social solidarity, a principle deeply rooted in Islamic teachings.
Al-Dahyani provided an overview of the projects carried out by the Zakat Office in the governorate during the first quarter of 2026. These projects included charitable kitchens for Ramadan, benefiting 2,040 families with a budget of 63 million riyals, and cleaning dams and watercourses with an investment of 10 million riyals.
He further announced the upcoming launch of the economic empowerment project in early April, focusing on raising and fattening livestock and sheep, with an estimated cost of 133 million riyals. This will be followed by a second phase encompassing initiatives in sewing, cattle, beekeeping, and additional projects.
