Jabal al-mahwit: Residents of the Al-Gharbi Al-A'la and Al-Gharbi Al-Asfal sub-districts in Jabal Al-Mahwit district have initiated the second phase of a community project aimed at paving and repairing the Al-Siyah - Al-Gharbi Al-Asfal road, which serves as a crucial link between the two sub-districts.
According to Yemen News Agency, the second phase of the project includes the construction of retaining walls and embankments to improve the road. In the project's first phase, residents built a retaining wall along the road's path in the Rahan area and conducted additional works involving stone cutting, the construction of longitudinal and transverse belts, and embankment projects covering 800 square meters. The materials used in these efforts cost over four million riyals, with funding provided by local residents.
Khaled Al-Tafbani, Head of the Community Committee for the initiative, emphasized the community's dedication to continuing the work on leveling and improving the road paths until the project reaches completion. He highlighted the road's significance for both service and agricultural activities in the area.
Al-Tafbani explained that the road traverses several valleys and fertile agricultural lands, and that improving the rough sections will enhance citizen movement, facilitate the transport of agricultural products, and encourage farmers to reclaim additional land for cultivation.
