Sana'a: The sports championship for students of the summer courses in Sana'a Province kicked off on Sunday, organized by the Youth and Sports Office under the supervision of the Higher and Subcommittees for Summer Activities and Courses.
According to Yemen News Agency, teams that qualified at the district level are participating in the championship, held under the slogan 'Knowledge and Jihad,' competing for the province cup.
In the opening match between Sana'a Al-Jadidah and Sanhan, held at Martyr Abu Ali Amer School stadium, the latter won 2-1.
At the opening, the Director of the Youth and Sports Office in the province, Abdulmohsen Al-Sharif, noted that the championship-part of the summer courses' activities and programs complementing the educational and developmental aspects-aims to promote physical fitness, create a positive competitive environment among schools, strengthen teamwork values, and make good use of Youth's time during the summer break.
