Al-hudaydah: The activities of the "Tihama Al-Khair" Festival have been launched on the corniche of Al-Hudaydah city, organized by the Office of Culture and Tourism in the province on the occasion of the blessed Eid al-Adha.
According to Yemen News Agency, the festival comes within the framework of efforts to revitalize cultural and tourism activities in the province, enhance its role in serving the community, and invest religious and national occasions in presenting quality programs that combine entertainment, culture, and the showcasing of creative energies and young talents.
The festival, which lasts for three days, includes theatrical and dramatic performances featuring a select group of artists and theater practitioners, as well as various choral, sports, and show segments to highlight talents.
During the inauguration, the Director General of the Office of Culture and Tourism in the province, Asad Basha, emphasized the importance of holding such activities to activate the cultural and tourism movement in the province. He noted that the festival translates the directives of the local authority leadership, represented by Governor Abdullah Atifi, in paying attention to citizens' recreational spaces and boosting domestic tourism.
He explained that the festival seeks to strengthen the authentic faith-based and cultural identity of the people of Tihama, and to link creative activities with national and mobilizational issues. He also reviewed the significance of holding these events on the coastal strip to convey messages of resilience and steadfastness of the Yemeni people in the face of challenges.
Basha pointed to the role these festivals play in embracing and encouraging creative individuals in the fields of theater, chant, and sports, and in delivering meaningful awareness messages that meet the aspirations of the community. He praised the coordination between the organizing bodies, the supervisory committee, and the General Mobilization to ensure the success of the events.
He expressed his appreciation for the private sector contributing to the sponsorship of the festival, foremost among them Al-Mahdar Trading Company, affirming the office's continued organization of programs and activities that highlight the rich cultural heritage of the province.
The inauguration was attended by the Director General of the Office of Youth and Sports in the province, Emad Al-Barai, along with a number of local and executive leaders and social figures.
