Launching Practical Application of Investment Law 2025 in Hodeidah: A New Vision for Economic Growth

Hodeidah: The Ministry of Economy, Industry and Investment, along with the General Investment Authority, has initiated the practical application of the Investment Law 2025 in Hodeidah Governorate under the slogan “Investment in Yemen… A New Vision.”

According to Yemen News Agency, this launch was marked by an event organized by the Office of Economy, Industry, and Investment in Hodeidah, attended by prominent figures such as the Minister of Economy, Eng. Moeen Al-Mahaqri, the Minister of Transport and Public Works, Mohammed Qahim, the Governor of Hodeidah, Abdullah Atifi, the Deputy Minister of Electricity, Adel Bader, and the Chairman of the General Investment Authority, Yasser Al-Mansour.

The Minister of Economy emphasized the strategic choice of Hodeidah for the launch due to its significant role in the national economy. He highlighted the governorate’s capabilities that position it as an ideal model for implementing the law. The minister described the law as a pivotal shift in the state’s approach to development, showcasing a partnership between the government and the private sector. He also mentioned the government’s initiatives to localize 17 food commodities and the implementation of economic empowerment programs in sectors such as clothing, dairy, and leather products, alongside efforts to enhance electronic services for a better business environment.

The Minister of Transport noted the law’s provision of advantages and facilities that fulfill investors’ aspirations and urged collective efforts to realize development goals. Governor Abdullah Atifi commended the government’s steps to streamline procedures and create an appealing investment climate, highlighting the promising investment prospects in Hodeidah that can bolster the national economy and generate employment for youth.

Yasser Al-Mansour, Chairman of the General Investment Authority, explained that this practical launch serves as the second phase following the official launch in Sana’a. He underlined the Authority’s commitment to implementing the law’s benefits and mentioned the registration of new investment projects in Hodeidah, indicating its appeal to investors.

The Director of the Economic Office in Hodeidah shared the success story of localizing the dairy industry in the governorate, with production reaching 130,000 liters per day. Hashem Al-Mahdar, representing the private sector, expressed support for the law and encouraged active engagement to enhance the business climate.

The event featured presentations on the merits of the Investment Law 2025 and introduced the electronic portal “Tas’heel,” managed by the General Authority for Standards and Metrology, designed to streamline procedures for investors.
