Sana’a: The Customs Authority has initiated a training program aimed at customs brokers and representatives of commercial companies to introduce the Yemeni single window system for customs clearance. This marks a significant step in fully launching the system, which is now accessible to all beneficiaries, having previously been limited to government agencies.
According to Yemen News Agency, the program’s objective is to fortify partnerships with the private sector and transition to a completely electronic work environment within the next two months. It encompasses ten training courses that will cater to 400 participants, covering topics such as the legal framework, system components, operational procedures, document preparation, technical support, evaluation, and follow-up.
The head of the authority, Eng. Adel Margham, emphasized that this digital transformation is in line with the directives of the political leadership and the government of change and construction. He highlighted future projects, including the introduction of declarations and prior permits to streamline customs procedures.
Margham also underscored the crucial role of traders and customs brokers in ensuring the success of the electronic transition process. He noted that the system contributes to expediting procedures, reducing costs, and enhancing transparency by providing a unified platform, thereby eliminating the need to interact with multiple parties.
