Local Administration Deputy Minister Reviews Hadramout’s Performance Report

Sanaa: The Deputy Minister of Local Administration, Rural and Development, Nasser Al-Mahdhar, received a performance report for Hadramout Governorate for the period of Sha'ban to Dhu al-Hijjah 1447 AH, submitted by Hadramout Governor Luqman Baras. The report outlines the initiatives undertaken by the local authority in various sectors, with a focus on improving services for the residents of Hadramout in the free zones.

According to Yemen News Agency, Al-Mahdhar encouraged the local authority to enhance efforts towards improving service quality for displaced families from the governorate. He stressed the importance of economically empowering these families through developmental and service projects, alongside community initiatives, ensuring these are incorporated into the governorate's future plans.

Al-Mahdhar highlighted the Ministry's commitment to addressing the conditions of the occupied governorates, focusing on bolstering the role of local authorities. This support aims to enhance their performance and facilitate their duties in serving the citizens, thereby alleviating their hardships and fortifying their resilience against ongoing challenges.

Governor Luqman Baras provided an overview of the current situation in Hadramout, highlighting the hardships faced by its people under the continued Saudi-Emirati occupation. He pointed out the severe security, service, and living conditions, which have negatively impacted daily life and led to a near-collapse of basic services, especially during the extreme summer heat.

Governor Baras also elaborated on the local authority's efforts to support displaced and expelled families, focusing on capacity building and vocational training through economic empowerment projects. These initiatives aim to prepare the affected families for the labor market, thereby enhancing their economic stability and resilience.
