Sana'a: The local authority of Abyan Governorate commemorated the Prophet's birthday (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) for the year 1448 AH with a notable speech event. The gathering was attended by several governors from the southern and eastern governorates.
According to Yemen News Agency, at the event, Abyan Governor Saleh Al-Junaidi emphasized the significance of celebrating the Prophet's birthday, highlighting it as an opportunity to draw lessons from the life of the Prophet. He remarked that these celebrations reflect the Yemenis' deep-rooted connection to their Prophet and their commitment to following his teachings and supporting his message.
Governor Al-Junaidi further noted that the occasion serves as an annual reaffirmation of faith, deeply embedded in the religious and social identity of Yemenis. He emphasized the historical role of the Ansar in supporting the Prophet and spreading his message globally. In his address, he also spoke on the importance of the event in fostering social cohesion and unity against adversaries.
Al-Junaidi issued a warning to the residents of Abyan and southern governorates about the risks of aligning with Saudi mobilization efforts. He urged those involved with Saudi enemy militias to return to their communities and avoid military engagements.
Representatives Jamal al-Zamki and Rashid al-Haddad, speaking on behalf of local social figures, reiterated the celebration's significance in underscoring Yemeni steadfastness in Islamic teachings. They asserted that no external forces could undermine the Yemeni people's faith and commitment to confronting injustice.
Al-Zamki and al-Haddad compared the current siege on Yemen to the historical siege faced by the Prophet Muhammad, highlighting the ongoing economic crises as a result of Saudi-Emirati occupation. They criticized the Saudi regime's actions as collective punishment affecting all Yemenis.
They emphasized that the ongoing battle by Yemeni armed forces to lift the siege encompasses broader demands, including the lifting of blockades on all ports and airports across the governorates. They posited that the siege-for-siege strategy could pressure the Saudi regime to withdraw from southern regions and adhere to peace requirements.
The event, which attracted a large audience from Abyan and other governorates, featured expressive songs and cultural displays, celebrating the Prophet's enduring legacy.
