Taiz: The local authority and mobilization office in Taiz governorate launched a wide-ranging and comprehensive cleaning campaign across the districts, as part of preparations to welcome the month of Ramadan.
According to Yemen News Agency, the campaign, in its second phase, is being carried out in coordination with the governorate's Cleanliness and Improvement Fund, with participation from the military, workers of the Cleanliness and Improvement Fund, and various segments of society.
During the launch, Acting Governor Ahmed Al-Masawi stated that the second phase of the cleaning campaign continues the ongoing cleanliness efforts across all districts of the governorate. He emphasized that the campaign enjoys the participation of military and security units, as well as all official institutions and agencies.
Al-Masawi called on both official and community entities to actively engage with the campaign, stressing the importance of everyone taking responsibility in preparing for Ramadan by maintaining cleanliness in government offices, residential neighborhoods, alleys, and villages.
He praised the on-the-ground engagement in the campaign, noting that military units had begun cleaning around their camps, and security agencies were operating within their respective areas. He renewed the call for all entities to continue cleaning efforts and make them a daily practice.
The launch was attended by Deputy Governor Fouad Sinan, the governorate's mobilization officials Mohamed Al-Khalidi and Hames Al-Habari. Talal Al-Soufi, Director of the Governorate's Cleanliness and Improvement Fund, explained that the first phase of the campaign had targeted several neighborhoods in New Taiz City (Al-Huban) and Maqbna district.
He added that the first phase had resulted in the removal of over 1,500 tons of waste, with the participation of around 300 workers, the use of more than 23 machines and vehicles, contributions from several executive offices, and active involvement from the local community.
Al-Soufi confirmed that the second phase is being implemented with the participation of military units and official government institutions, supported by public involvement. He noted that the campaign aims to cover all districts and neighborhoods in New Taiz City, contributing to a clean and healthy environment.
