Socotra: The National Center for Meteorology and Early Warning has reported that a low-pressure system is currently centered approximately 1,500 kilometers away from the Socotra Archipelago Governorate. Positioned at latitude 09.7 degrees north and longitude 67.7 degrees east, the system has been progressing at a speed of 3 kilometers per hour over the past six hours and is anticipated to move northeast over the next 24 hours.
According to Yemen News Agency, the center’s weather bulletin has indicated that clouds in the Socotra Archipelago may vary from low to medium density and could be interspersed with thunderstorm cells, potentially extending to the eastern parts of the Gulf of Aden. Wind speeds are expected to be moderate to active, ranging between 20 and 30 knots, which could significantly reduce horizontal visibility. Additionally, the sea conditions are projected to be rough to very rough, with wave heights between 3 to 4 meters.
The Socotra Archipelago Governorate has already experienced varying intensity rains over the past few hours, especially in the southeast of the eastern territorial waters and eastern parts of the archipelago. The center has issued warnings to citizens, fishermen, and ship captains to exercise caution due to the adverse weather conditions, rough seas, and high waves expected in the eastern territorial waters, around the Socotra Archipelago, and the eastern Gulf of Aden.
