Al-tuffah: Majd al-Aradi team from the Arad area in al-Tuffah District, al-Bayda Governorate, claimed victory in the inaugural Dr. Adel al-Subaihi Memorial Football Championship, organized under the supervision of the district's Office of Youth and Sports. The championship concluded with Majd al-Aradi securing a narrow 1-0 win over the al-Nil Isma team in the final match of the tournament, which featured 16 teams from various districts.
According to Yemen News Agency, the closing ceremony was attended by several notable figures including Nasser al-Ghashami, the Director of the Office of Youth and Sports, and Engineer Ali al-Qanis, Deputy Director of the Communications Office. Local officials honored the Majd al-Aradi team with the championship cup and gold medals, while the al-Nil Isma team received silver medals for their efforts.
Individual accolades were also awarded, with Aseel Yasser from Nusur al-Mariyyah in Radman District being named Best Player, Saleh al-Hanash from Majd al-Aradi as the Top Scorer, and Saleh al-Bujairi from Majd al-Aradi as the Best Goalkeeper. The Fair Play Team award was presented to Nusur al-Mariyyah.
Al-Ghashami emphasized the significance of the tournament, named in memory of the late Dr. Adel al-Subaihi, recognizing his humanitarian contributions to the al-Tuffah community. He remarked on the high technical skill and sportsmanship displayed throughout the championship, noting that such events are vital for engaging youth, commemorating social figures, and national occasions, as well as for discovering potential athletic talents.
