Marib: Marib Governor Ali Ta’iman inaugurated the Qaniyah and Al-Hamra water projects in Mahliya district, valued at $300,000. The projects received government support and community contributions, funded by the Humanitarian Finance Fund and implemented by the Social Workers Organization (SWO).
According to Yemen News Agency, Governor Ta’iman, accompanied by the director of the Rural Water Authority branch, Ali Al-Samsam, and the director of Mahliya district, Muti’a Thawaba, were briefed on the projects’ components. These include solar systems, tanks, integrated pumping systems, an “inverter” room, a pumping line, and a connection line, benefiting more than six hundred families.
During the inauguration, Governor Ta’iman highlighted the significance of the Qaniyah water project, which aims to alleviate the residents’ challenges in accessing drinking water. He noted that the region has lacked basic services, including water projects, for decades.
The directors of Rural Water Al-Samsam and Directorate Thawaba acknowledged the importance of these projects in serving the community. They expressed gratitude for the efforts of the local authority leadership and donors in bringing these projects to fruition.
