Sana’a: The first edition of the Martyr Leader Ramadan Football Championship for youth commenced today at the 22nd May Club stadium in Sana’a, featuring participation from 12 teams hailing from the neighborhoods of Sha’ub District.
According to Yemen News Agency, the championship’s opening match saw Shabab Al-Najm triumph over Shabab 22nd May with a score of 3-1. The second match concluded with Juniors 22nd May and Shabab Irfan ending in a 1-1 draw.
The club president, Mohammed Al-Hadrami, emphasized that the championship is designed to foster camaraderie among the youth and uncover new talents. Abdul-Hafiz Al-Shawafi, the sports activity official, noted that the championship is conducted under a league system. Additionally, the Buds League is set to commence next Friday, with participation from 16 teams.
