Sana'a: Mass rallies were held across Ibb province on Friday to commemorate the anniversary of the martyrdom of Imam Zaid bin Ali and express support for a statement issued by the Yemeni armed forces.
According to Yemen News Agency, participants in the rallies included local officials, tribal leaders, military and security figures, and residents. They reaffirmed their positions on national issues and pledged to continue steadfastness in the face of ongoing challenges.
Demonstrators carried banners expressing support for the armed forces' statement and called for ending the blockade and aggression against Yemen. They also voiced support for expanding military training programs following a call by Houthi leader Abdul-Malik al-Houthi.
Speakers at the rallies said the commemoration of Imam Zaid reflected values of sacrifice and resistance to oppression. They described the armed forces' statement as representing the aspirations of Yemenis to restore their rights and sovereignty.
Participants criticized economic pressure and the continued exploitation of Yemen's oil and gas resources, arguing that such measures had failed to weaken public resolve. The rallies reiterated support for the Palestinian cause and the "Axis of Resistance," which includes Palestine, Lebanon, Iran, Iraq, and Yemen. They also welcomed Iran's move to operate flights to Sanaa International Airport, describing it as a step toward breaking the airport blockade.
The participants further called for continued public mobilization, military training, and preparedness, while affirming support for future actions announced by the Yemeni armed forces.
