Dhamar: The football championship for the 'Great Prophet' Cup for the year 1448 AH kicked off on Tuesday in Jabal Al Sharq District of Dhamar Governorate as part of celebrations marking the Prophet's birthday anniversary.
According to Yemen News Agency, the tournament is organized by the district branch of the Youth and Sports Office in cooperation with the Education and Training Sector. It is supported and sponsored by the Youth and Sports Welfare Fund and supervised by the Governorate Youth and Sports Office. The event features six teams competing in a round-robin format.
In the opening match, the Al-Aqsa team made a strong start by defeating its rival Shabab Al-Aqsa with a score of 11-2. In the second match, the Al-Qimma team emerged victorious, beating the Al-Aseel team 5-3.
