Meeting Addresses Performance of General Authority for Preservation of Historic Cities

Sana’a: A meeting chaired by Minister of Culture and Tourism Dr. Ali al-Yafei discussed on Saturday the conditions and performance of the General Authority for the Preservation of Historic Cities.

According to Yemen News Agency, the meeting reviewed proposals for improving the Authority’s performance. These included activating the law for the preservation of historic cities, enhancing revenues and financial sustainability, and preserving the historical character of cities.

The attendees approved the inclusion of the Heritage House in the emergency project and decided to form a committee to address issues related to the sewage network in the historic city of Sana’a.

The Minister emphasized the importance of improving the conditions of employees and developing their skills, while Deputy Minister Abdullah al-Washali highlighted the need to evaluate performance and develop work mechanisms to enhance the effectiveness of the Authority.
