Meeting at Administration & Local Development Ministry Discusses Support for Public Cleanliness System

Sana'a: A meeting chaired by Ammar Al-Harib, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Administration, Local Development, and Rural Affairs, focused on strategies to support the public cleanliness system and encourage community initiatives across the capital secretariat and provinces. The meeting addressed the critical need for cleanliness to become a daily practice for all community members, with an emphasis on educational campaigns and awareness efforts.

According to Yemen News Agency, Al-Harib stressed that cleanliness should be prioritized as a means to ensure a safe environment free from epidemics. He called for awareness campaigns in schools, universities, institutes, and mosques to educate the public on the significance of cleanliness. Al-Harib emphasized the collective effort required from all relevant authorities to achieve the desired cleanliness and environmental goals.

Al-Harib also underscored the importance of adhering to cleanliness regulations and proper waste disposal practices. He encouraged the enrichment of the executive framework for public cleanliness with new ideas and proposals, supported by a timeline for implementation.

Assistant Undersecretary Khalil Al-Quraishi highlighted the necessity of designing awareness programs and educational campaigns through media outlets, with an emphasis on urban improvement. He stressed the importance of defining roles and responsibilities among concerned authorities to ensure effective execution of cleanliness tasks.

Al-Quraishi also proposed incorporating educational materials on public cleanliness into school curricula due to their impact on public health and city aesthetics. He emphasized enhancing community awareness to foster a behavioral and ethical commitment to cleanliness.

The meeting also highlighted the role of security agencies in enforcing cleanliness regulations and the importance of measures for recycling and proper waste disposal in accordance with established procedures.
