Hodeida: A meeting in Hodeida province on Saturday, chaired by Acting Minister of Economy Sam al-Bishiri, explored strategies to enhance the marketing of local products, support producers, and strengthen public-private sector cooperation to drive national economic growth.
According to Yemen News Agency, the meeting, attended by Hodeida governor Abdullah Atifi and Agriculture Ministry Undersecretary Mohsen Atef, emphasized the need to integrate agricultural output into local factories, develop value chains, and balance supply and demand.
It also reviewed proposals for improving collaboration between government and private sectors while addressing field challenges affecting product marketing and production efficiency.
Minister al-Bishiri highlighted the government's commitment to supporting local production through economic and legislative reforms, with plans for national programs linking farmers to manufacturers and offering training and incentives.
Governor Atifi reaffirmed Hodeida's readiness to back these efforts, citing its vital agricultural resources, while the Agriculture Ministry stressed the importance of expanding market access to reduce waste and stabilize local markets.
