Hodeidah: A meeting of the Board of Directors of the Local Water and Sanitation Corporation in Hodeidah Governorate was held on Sunday, chaired by the Governor of the province and Head of the Board, Abdullah Atifi, to review performance reports and recent developments related to the corporation's technical and service conditions.
According to Yemen News Agency, the meeting, attended by the Corporation's Director General Abdulrahman Ishaq, his deputies Khaled Fikri, Mohammed Khazan, and Ahmed Al-Hamdani, as well as department and division heads, focused on mechanisms to mobilize available resources to overcome challenges facing citizens, ensure the continuity of water supply and sanitation services.
The session reviewed field operations and operational plans aimed at maintaining water pumping and addressing sewage overflows in various neighborhoods, as well as activating communication channels to receive citizen complaints and respond to them promptly.
Governor Atifi emphasized the importance of doubling efforts and raising readiness levels to ensure the stability of water and sanitation services, stressing the need for continuous field monitoring, rapid response to public complaints, and addressing any technical malfunctions in the network.
He praised the resilience of the corporation's staff and their continued service delivery despite the major challenges posed by the aggression and blockade, and the systematic targeting of infrastructure, affirming the commitment of local authorities to support all efforts that serve citizens and alleviate their suffering.
For his part, the Director General of the Corporation presented a report on workflow and the difficulties facing the institution under the current circumstances, noting that technical teams are operating at full capacity to ensure uninterrupted service to residential neighborhoods within available resources.
The meeting concluded with a number of decisions and recommendations aimed at improving performance levels, enhancing the operational efficiency of stations, networks, and overcoming obstacles resulting from limited resources under the current conditions.
