Sana'a: A meeting in the capital Sana'a, chaired by First Deputy Prime Minister Mohammed Miftah, discussed the coordination mechanism between service agencies for implementing infrastructure projects.
According to Yemen News Agency, the meeting included key officials such as the Minister of Transport and Public Works, Mohammed Quhaim; the Minister of Electricity, Energy, and Water, Dr. Ali Saif; the Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Eng. Mohammed al-Mahdi; the Mayor of the Capital, Dr. Hamoud Ubad; and the First Deputy Mayor, Khaled al-Madani, among others. The meeting aimed to review significant issues, including uncoordinated excavations and construction around electrical power systems and under high-voltage power lines.
The meeting also addressed the installation of billboards conflicting with electrical and telecommunications networks. Additionally, it examined the damage incurred by the asphalt road network due to sewage works and other service extensions.
The minutes of the agreement outlined legal procedures to coordinate and regulate the work of relevant entities during the implementation of service and development projects. The meeting highlighted that the mechanism's purpose is to enhance coordination among government agencies, ensuring infrastructure projects such as maintenance, improvements, excavations, and new expansions are implemented without overlap or harm to public facilities.
