Meeting in Taiz Focuses on Advancing Cheese Production and Marketing in Maqbana

Taiz: A meeting in Taiz Governorate, led by Deputy Governor for Development Affairs Abdulwasea Al-Shamsi, focused on practical steps to enhance the production and marketing of local cheeses in the Maqbana District.

According to Yemen News Agency, the gathering included key figures such as Eng. Abdullah Al-Jundi, the governorate's agriculture sector official, Shouqi Al-Mughallis, Director General of the Zakat Authority Office, Eng. Hussein Al-Rashidi, Director of the Financing Unit, and Abdulrahman Al-Shamiri, Maqbana District Director. They reviewed the roles of relevant authorities and partners in executing projects outlined in the executive plan, which include constructing 50 water reservoirs and providing 100 loans for solar energy systems.

The meeting highlighted the necessity of forming production groups for cheese producers and training 30 facilitators for these groups. It also focused on establishing a specialized center in the district for collecting, sorting, packaging, and labeling cheese to increase the product's value and market reach.

Additionally, the meeting discussed the provision of mobile feed grinders, support for 20 road sector community initiatives, and the distribution of 200 loans to cheese producers. These efforts aim to economically empower producers and encourage expanded production.

The discussion also covered the distribution of agricultural seedlings to centers and summer schools throughout the governorate. The initiative seeks to boost agricultural awareness among youth and foster a culture of farming and production.
