Meeting of Labor Force, Social Affairs Committee and Government on Employee Insurance

Sana'a: The Labor Force and Social Affairs Committee in the House of Representatives, led by Committee Chairman Azzam Salah, convened a meeting today to deliberate on the insurance conditions affecting employees within the state's administrative apparatus.

According to Yemen News Agency, the session saw active participation from the government, represented by Ibrahim Al-Haifi, Chairman of the General Authority for Insurance and Pensions, and Aref Al-Awadhi, the Deputy for Settlements and Pensions at the Authority, along with several general directors and specialists. The agenda focused on evaluating the insurance rights of state employees.

A comprehensive report was presented by the joint technical team from the Committee's office and the General Authority for Insurance, detailing the points and provisions necessary to address the insurance conditions of employees within the administrative apparatus.

The Committee highlighted the critical importance of implementing measures to ensure the legal rights of employees in administrative units, scrutinizing records to verify the accuracy of data for those covered by insurance across various administrative units. It also emphasized the need to protect the acquired rights of employees from their previous workplaces prior to their transfer to new entities.

The Committee acknowledged the efforts of the technical committee in parliament and the General Authority for Insurance and Pensions for their diligence in monitoring the insurance situation across all administrative service units.

Committee Chairman Azzam Salah urged an increase in efforts to fulfill all tasks assigned to the Authority in compliance with the law and to safeguard the insurance rights of retirees. He also stressed the importance of identifying suitable solutions to resolve the status of those entitled to insurance rights according to legal stipulations.
