Sana'a: The National Meteorological Center and Early Warning Center has forecasted moderate to heavy thunderstorms along with scattered rainfall across several governorates in the upcoming 24 hours.
According to Yemen News Agency, the weather bulletin released by the meteorological center indicates that regions including Saada, Amran, Hajjah, Al Mahwit, Raymah, Dhamar, Al Bayda, Ibb, Al Dhale'e, and Taiz are likely to experience moderate to heavy thunderstorms. These storms could be accompanied by strong downdraft winds and hail, extending to parts of the Tihama Plain.
The bulletin also predicts scattered rainfall, sometimes with accompanying thunderstorms, over the highlands of Sana'a, Lahj, and Abyan, as well as parts of the highlands and deserts of Al Mahrah, Hadramout, Shabwah, Marib, and Al Jawf.
Citizens have been advised by the center to avoid ravines, valleys, and flood channels during and after rainfall. Drivers are particularly warned against crossing low-level bridges during floods to ensure safety.
Precautionary warnings have also been issued regarding thunderstorms. Residents are advised to avoid elevated areas, remain away from trees and metal structures that could attract lightning, refrain from using mobile phones, disconnect electricity, and stay away from water sources to avoid safety hazards.
The center also cautioned about reduced visibility due to rain and fog formation on roads and mountain slopes, urging relevant authorities to take necessary measures to protect lives and property.
