Meteorology: Conditions Favorable for Formation of Cumulonimbus Clouds Over Western Highlands

Sana’a: The National Center of Meteorology and Early Warning reported that conditions remain favorable for the formation of cumulonimbus clouds during the afternoon and evening hours over the western mountain range.

According to Yemen News Agency, the center’s weather bulletin predicts rainfall of varying intensity accompanied by thunderstorms across the governorates of Saada, Hajjah, Al Mahweet, Amran, Sana’a, Dhamar, Raymah, Ibb, and the Tihama Plain. Additionally, scattered rains, sometimes with thunder, are expected over parts of Taiz, Al Dhale’a, Al Bayda, and the highlands of Lahj and Abyan.

The center has issued warnings to citizens about the potential for flash floods in ravines and valleys, advising them against being present in these areas or crossing them during and after rainfall. The public is also cautioned about thunderstorms and advised to avoid proximity to electrical poles and tall trees.

The warnings extend to the possibility of rockfalls and mudslides, as well as reduced horizontal visibility on roads and mountain slopes due to rainfall and fog formation.
