Sana'a: The National Center for Meteorology and Early Warning expects clear weather with scattered and varying intensity thunderstorm rains over the next 24 hours. The center explained in its weather bulletin, a copy of which was received by the Yemeni News Agency (Saba), that the weather in the mountainous highlands will be clear to partly cloudy with varying intensity thunderstorm rains on the governorates of Taiz, Ibb, Raymah, and Al-Mahwit, and scattered rains on parts of the governorates of Hajjah, Dhamar, Al-Dhale', and the highlands of Lahj and Abyan. Water mist or fog may form over the western mountain highlands during the night and early morning.
According to Yemen News Agency, the weather in the coastal areas will be clear to partly cloudy, humid and hot, with maximum temperatures on the coasts, coastal plains, and interior plateaus ranging between 35 - 40°C. There is a possibility of scattered rains on parts of the Tihama plain, the eastern and southern coasts, and the interior areas adjacent to them, as well as parts of the Socotra Archipelago. Winds will be moderate to active over the Socotra Archipelago, ranging in speed between 15 - 25 knots.
In the desert areas, the weather is predicted to be clear, relatively dusty, and hot to very hot, with maximum temperatures ranging between 38 - 42°C. Moderate winds may become active at times, stirring up dust and sand.
The National Center for Meteorology has issued warnings to citizens in the mountainous areas expected to receive rainfall about the risk of flash floods in valleys and ravines, advising against being in or crossing their pathways during and after rainfall. It also cautioned against hot and very hot weather, recommending avoiding direct exposure to sunlight during midday and encouraging the consumption of plenty of fluids.
Additionally, the center warned seafarers, fishermen, and ship captains of rough seas around the Socotra Archipelago and east of the Gulf of Aden.
