Sana'a: The National Center for Meteorology and Early Warning anticipates continued rainfall of varying intensity over the next 24 hours.
According to Yemen News Agency, the center's weather bulletin indicates that the rainfall, which may include occasional hail, is expected to affect the governorates of Saada, Amran, Hajjah, Mahwit, Sana'a, Hodeida, Raymah, Dhamar, Ibb, Dhale'a, Taiz, the western coasts, the Tihama plain, and parts of Abyan and Shabwah.
Scattered rains, sometimes accompanied by thunder, are also forecast for the governorates of Lahj, Bayda, Ma'rib, Jawf, Hadramaut, and Mahrah, as well as parts of the southern and eastern coasts and adjacent inland areas.
Yesterday, scattered thunderstorms of varying intensity swept through the western, southwestern, and central highlands, coastal areas, the Tihama Plain, and parts of the interior plateaus and deserts. These showers led to torrential rains that caused water to flow into valleys and ravines.
The center has issued warnings to citizens about the dangers associated with thunderstorms, advising them to avoid crossing or venturing into floodwaters during and after rainfall. It also highlighted risks such as soil erosion, rock collapses, strong downdrafts, hail, and reduced horizontal visibility on roads and mountain slopes. Citizens are advised to take necessary preventative measures against thunderstorms and avoid unstable slopes.
