Meteorology Forecasts Persisting Cold Weather Across Several Governorates

Sana’a: The National Center for Meteorology and Early Warning expects very cold weather to continue in a number of governorates during the next 24 hours. The center reported in its weather bulletin that very cold weather is expected in the governorates of Al Bayda, Dhamar, Sana’a, Amran, Saada, west of Al Jawf, and Marib with the possibility of frost forming in limited parts of them, and minimum temperatures range between 2-6 degrees Celsius.

According to Yemen News Agency, the weather may be cold in the highlands of Ibb, Al Dhale’e, Lahj, Abyan, Shabwa plateaus, Hadhramaut, Al Mahrah, and desert areas, with minimum temperatures ranging between 6-10 degrees Celsius. The weather is likely to be relatively cold in the highlands of Hajjah, Al Mahwit, Raymah, and Taiz governorates, with minimum temperatures ranging between 10-12 degrees Celsius.

The center also highlighted that the lowest temperatures recorded in some weather stations this morning were as follows: Dhamar: 0.2, Amran: 2.4, Sana’a: 3.5, and Seiyun: 5.2 degrees Celsius. The center warned citizens of the very cold weather during the night and early morning hours, especially the elderly, children, patients, and workers during the evening and early morning periods.

Furthermore, it advised farmers to take the necessary measures to protect crops, as well as livestock herders, beekeepers, and poultry farmers to shelter them in healthy and warm places.
