Sana'a: The National Center for Meteorology and Early Warning expects varying intensity of rain in the highlands and coastal areas, and hot weather during the day in the desert areas, over the next 24 hours.
According to Yemen News Agency, the center's weather bulletin indicates that clear to partly cloudy weather is expected during the day, with the potential for scattered rain of varying intensity. Some of this rain may be accompanied by thunder over parts of the western and northwestern highlands, specifically in the governorates of Sana'a, Amran, Dhamar, Hajjah, Al Mahwit, Sa'dah, and Raymah.
Additionally, fog or water mist may form on the highlands, mountain slopes, and parts of the interior plateaus during the night and early morning hours. The coastal regions are expected to experience clear to partly cloudy weather, with a chance of light rain along the inland parts of the western coast. Similar weather patterns are forecasted for the Socotra Archipelago, where rain of varying intensity may occur in parts of the island.
Winds are expected to be active to strong along the southern west coast, the Bab al-Mandab Strait, and the Gulf of Aden, with speeds reaching up to 35 knots, leading to rough seas and high waves.
The center also noted the likelihood of clear and hot weather during the day in desert areas, with maximum temperatures ranging between 34 and 39 degrees Celsius. Winds in these areas are forecasted to be moderate to active, potentially stirring up dust and sand.
The center has urged citizens in areas expecting rainfall to avoid valleys and flood paths. It also issued warnings to fishermen and beachgoers south of the west coast, the Bab al-Mandab Strait, and the western Gulf of Aden about rough seas and high waves. Furthermore, it cautioned residents in the Tihama Plain and desert areas about the hot weather, advising them to avoid direct sunlight and to stay hydrated.
