Sana'a: The National Center for Meteorology and Early Warning has forecast rainfall of varying intensity across several governorates over the next 24 hours. The center stated in its weather bulletin that varying intensity of rain, accompanied by thunderstorms and hail, is likely to fall on the governorates of Sana'a, Mahwit, Hajjah, Dhamar, Raymah, Ibb, Amran, and Saada.
According to Yemen News Agency, variable intensity thunderstorms are expected in the governorates of Taiz, Dhale'a, Lahj, Bayda, Ma'rib, Jawf, Abyan, Shabwah, Hadhramaut, Mahrah, and the highlands of the Tihama Plain. Scattered rain showers, sometimes accompanied by thunder, are expected on the southern coasts and adjacent inland areas.
Yesterday, thunderstorms of varying intensity fell, triggering flash floods that affected the western, southwestern, and central highlands, coastal areas, the Tihama Plain, and parts of the interior plateaus and deserts. The center warned citizens of the dangers of thunderstorms, crossing or venturing into floodwaters during and after rainfall, soil erosion, rockfalls, strong downdrafts, hail, and reduced horizontal visibility on roads and mountain slopes.
It advised citizens to take the necessary precautions against thunderstorms and to avoid unstable slopes.
