Sana'a: The National Center for Meteorology and Early Warning has forecast scattered rain showers across several governorates over the next 24 hours.
According to Yemen News Agency, the center's weather bulletin predicts thunderstorms of varying intensity, with some storms possibly accompanied by hail, in parts of the governorates of Lahj, Taiz, Dhalea, Ibb, Raymah, Dhamar, Mahwit, Sana'a, Hajjah, Amran, western Jawf, and Saada.
Scattered rain showers, sometimes accompanied by thunder, are likely in parts of the governorates of Bayda, western Ma'rib, and the highlands of Abyan, Shabwah, and Hadramaut. The center also warned of strong to very strong winds around the Socotra Archipelago, the Gulf of Aden, and the eastern and southern coasts.
The amount of rainfall measured at meteorological stations in Al Mahwit over the past 24 hours was 38.7 mm, Hajjah 22.2 mm, Saada 18.3 mm, Raymah 17.9 mm, Amanat Al Asimah 13.2 mm, Ibb 10.5 mm, Dhamar 10 mm, Taiz 9.5 mm, and Amran 4.6 mm. Rainfall of varying intensity also fell on areas in the governorates of Jawf, Ma'rib, Dhamar, Dhale'e, Lahj, eastern Hodeida, and Aden, although these were outside the stations' range.
The center warned citizens of the dangers posed by thunderstorms and hail, as well as the risks associated with being in or crossing floodwaters during and after rainfall. Seafarers, fishermen, and ship captains were advised to be cautious of rough seas and high waves around the Socotra Archipelago, in the Gulf of Aden, and along the eastern and southern coasts.
