Sana'a: The National Center for Meteorology and Early Warning has predicted scattered thunderstorms of varying intensity across several governorates over the next 24 hours. The center's weather bulletin indicates that these thunderstorms are likely to impact parts of the governorates of Saada, Hajjah, Mahwit, Amran, Sana'a, Raymah, Dhamar, Ibb, Taiz, Dhale'a, and Lahj.
According to Yemen News Agency, scattered rains, sometimes accompanied by thunder, are expected in parts of the governorates of Bayda, western Jawf, and the highlands of Abyan, Shabwah, and Hadramaut. The center also forecasts strong to very strong winds around the Socotra Archipelago, the Gulf of Aden, and the eastern and southern coasts.
In terms of precipitation, the meteorological stations in Sana'a and As-Sunainah recorded a rainfall of 9.0 mm over the past 24 hours, while Saada and Amran registered 3.1 mm and 1.0 mm, respectively. Regions within the mountainous highlands and interior plateaus, outside the range of monitoring stations, also experienced rainfall of varying intensity.
The center has issued warnings to citizens about potential thunderstorms and advised against staying in or crossing floodwaters during and after rainfall. Additionally, it cautioned seafarers, fishermen, and ship captains about rough seas and high waves around the Socotra Archipelago, in the Gulf of Aden, and along the eastern and southern coasts.
