Sana'a: The National Center for Meteorology and Early Warning has forecasted scattered rain of varying intensity across several governorates, alongside strong winds and rough seas, for the next 24 hours. The Tihama Plain and desert areas are also expected to experience hot weather conditions.
According to Yemen News Agency, the center's weather bulletin highlighted that scattered rain, possibly accompanied by thunder, is anticipated in parts of the governorates of Sa'dah, Hajjah, Al Mahwit, Amran, Sana'a, Dhamar, Raymah, Ibb, and Taiz.
The bulletin further warned of strong winds along the southern west coast, near Bab al-Mandab, and the western Gulf of Aden, which could lead to rough seas and high waves. Maximum temperatures in the Tihama Plain and desert areas are projected to range between 34 and 39 degrees Celsius.
In the past 24 hours, rainfall measurements recorded 20.8 mm in Sana'a and 4 mm in Amran. Light to moderate rain, occasionally with thunder, was also reported in parts of the western highlands and Socotra Island, although these areas are beyond the monitoring stations' coverage.
The center has issued warnings to citizens, advising them to avoid flood-prone areas and cautioning fishermen and beachgoers in the affected coastal regions to steer clear of rough seas. Additionally, residents in the Tihama Plain and desert areas are urged to avoid direct sunlight due to the anticipated hot weather.
