Sana'a: Acting Prime Minister Mohammed Miftah visited on Monday the Faculty of Dentistry at Sana'a University to inspect the progress of its educational activities and academic programs. During the visit, he was accompanied by Deputy Minister of Education and Scientific Research Dr. Hatem Al-Daees, Ministry Undersecretary for Basic Education Hadi Ammar, and Sana'a University President Dr. Mohammed Al-Bukaiti. Miftah reviewed the educational and academic process, the level of facilities, equipment, ongoing development projects, and medical services provided by the faculty to the community.
According to Yemen News Agency, Vice Dean Dr. Taghreed Al-Kibsi briefed the delegation on the progress of educational and research activities and efforts to improve academic and service performance. She also presented initiatives to enhance the learning environment for students and academic and administrative staff. The technical facilities at Sana'a University's electronic testing center were highlighted, emphasizing its role in administering examinations through more efficient and accurate electronic methods, thereby improving the quality of the educational process.
Miftah also inspected the faculty's maxillofacial computed tomography (CT) unit, which began operating last May at a cost of 35 million Yemeni riyals. This unit provides diagnostic services to citizens at nominal fees. Dr. Al-Bukaiti mentioned that the unit represents a significant addition to the faculty's medical and educational capabilities, offering specialized diagnostic services to the community and supporting the practical training of dental students.
The delegation inspected dental clinics under construction, which comprise 24 treatment units at an estimated cost of 46 million Yemeni riyals. They also visited the existing clinics, which provide free services to citizens and include 166 dental treatment units. Additionally, the delegation reviewed work at nine specialized teaching clinics, which provide free services to citizens daily. They assessed the services offered, available equipment, and the clinics' role in training dental students and linking theoretical knowledge with practical application.
Dr. Al-Bukaiti stated that the faculty's development projects aim to strengthen its educational and training environment, enhance the capabilities available to students and faculty members, and expand the medical and community services it provides. During the visit, the acting prime minister praised the efforts being made at the Faculty of Dentistry and the development underway in its facilities and educational and service programs. He stressed the importance of continuing development efforts and improving academic and professional performance to strengthen the faculty's role in preparing specialized cadres to serve the community.
