Sanaa: A massive rally took place on Friday in the capital city of Sanaa, drawing millions in support of Yemen's armed forces and to denounce the Saudi claims that Yemen targeted the holy city of Macca. The event was held under the banner "Supporting the Armed Forces, the Blockade-for-Blockade Equation, and Exposing the Falsehood of Targeting Macca."
According to Yemen News Agency, the crowds assembled to defend their honor and Islamic identity, expressing outrage over what they termed as "grave falsehoods" propagated by Saudi Arabia. The rally participants vehemently condemned the accusations, asserting that Yemeni people are committed to protecting the sanctity of Macca and other Islamic holy sites. They accused Saudi Arabia of engaging in actions that contradict the sanctity they claim to uphold.
The demonstrators emphasized that the alleged Saudi claims are deceptive and highlighted Yemen's historical role in defending Islam and its sacred sites. The rally also served as a platform to renew commitments to confronting aggression, overcoming the blockade imposed on Yemen, and supporting the Palestinian cause and other matters concerning the Muslim nation.
Participants voiced their unwavering support for the Yemeni armed forces in countering Saudi military actions. They reiterated their determination to adhere to the blockade-for-blockade and escalation-for-escalation strategy until Yemen's legitimate rights are restored.
A statement read during the rally by Sheikh Taha Al-Hadari, secretary-general of the Yemeni Association of Scholars, underscored the Yemeni people's dedication to defending their Islamic identity and rejecting the allegations against them. The statement celebrated the victories of the Yemeni people, praised the revolutionary leadership, and called for continued resistance against Saudi aggression.
The statement further condemned the Saudi regime's accusations, labeling them as serious crimes and assaults on Yemeni honor and identity. It called on the Yemeni people to respond to these allegations through legitimate means and reiterated support for the Palestinian cause and resistance against perceived Zionist threats.
The rally concluded with a call for unity among Muslim nations to distinguish sincere defenders of holy sites from those accused of hypocrisy, urging governments and political actors to either support Yemen or demonstrate genuine commitment to the Muslim nation's dignity.
