Minister of Finance Stresses Partnership Between Tax and Customs Administration and Taxpayers

Sana'a: Minister of Finance Abdul Jabbar Ahmed has emphasized the importance of building a true partnership between the Tax and Customs Administration and taxpayers during a recent meeting with the Acting Head of the Tax and Customs Authority, Dr. Ibrahim Mahdi, and the Authority's leadership.

According to Yemen News Agency, the Minister highlighted that merging the Tax and Customs authorities is a strategic step aimed at unifying and simplifying procedures, drawing from successful international experiences. He outlined that this new structure will consider similar and specialized functions within unified sectors and will enhance the service-oriented nature of the Authority as it interacts with a wide segment of the public.

The Minister also underscored the role of the Authority as an effective tool for implementing economic policies and supporting sustainable development. He advocated for teamwork and the organization of workshops to improve performance. Dr. Ibrahim Mahdi, on his part, confirmed the Authority's commitment to implementing the Minister's directives and developing work mechanisms to achieve its set goals.
