Minister of Interior Directs Reduction of Old Traffic Violation Fees

General

Sana’a: The Minister of Interior, Major General Abdulkarim Amir Al-Din Al-Houthi, has announced a directive to reduce fees for old traffic violations and exempt citizens from late renewal fees for vehicle registration, commonly known as the “ownership card,” for a period of thirty days.

According to Yemen News Agency, the General Traffic Department stated that this decision was taken in anticipation of the upcoming month of Ramadan and to consider the financial circumstances of citizens. The directive is set to be implemented starting tomorrow, Monday.

The announcement highlighted that this initiative serves as a final opportunity for individuals with accumulated violations to clear their dues and correct their status. Citizens can make payments in person at the General Traffic Department and its branches across provinces, or they can use various digital platforms including the traffic website, mobile application, e-Sadad platform, banks, exchange companies, electronic wallets linked to the platform, and post offices in the free provinces.
