Al hodeidah: The Evaluation and Monitoring Committee of the Ministry of Administration, Local and Rural Development reviewed today the progress of service and development performance, the level of implementation of community initiatives, and food value chains in Al Qanawis District, Al H Governorate.
According to Yemen News Agency, the committee, headed by the Ministry's Control Director, Ghalib Al-Wali, and his deputy, Khaled Al-Jamai, began its visit with a meeting with the head of the Al Qanawis Multi-Purpose Agricultural Cooperative Association, Abdulaziz Owaidan. The discussion focused on the progress of agricultural and community initiatives, the level of implementation of food value chain programs, the challenges faced by the association, and strategies to enhance agricultural production and improve farmers' livelihoods.
Following the meeting, the committee, along with the District Director, Mohammed Al-Qawzi, conducted a field visit. This included the "Finiyat Wadi Al-Ghalisi" rehabilitation initiative and the earthen barrier designated to protect the villages of "Al-Hazr and Al-Bawah." They also inspected several water barriers and agricultural lands in the district, reviewing community efforts in maintaining water facilities.
The inspection continued with a review of the cleaning and improvement sector, including visits to landfills. The committee emphasized the need to adhere to environmental standards and intensify efforts to improve the district's aesthetic appearance.
An expanded meeting was held with the local council, executive offices, and the administration of the Al Qanawis Agricultural Association. Attended by the District Director and the Executive Director of the association, the meeting focused on discussing performance reports and overcoming challenges hindering the progress of service and development projects.
The committee highlighted the importance of integrating efforts between the local authority, cooperative associations, and the community to enhance sustainable local development. It emphasized the continuation of community initiative projects to improve service and economic conditions in the district.
The committee acknowledged the achievements of projects and initiatives, urging for increased efforts and the removal of obstacles to enhance the role of cooperative work in supporting agricultural development and achieving food security.
