Sana’a: Ministers of Foreign Affairs and Health engaged in discussions with the heads of mission of MSF organizations from France, Switzerland, Spain, and the Netherlands today. The meeting, attended by Foreign Affairs Undersecretary for International Cooperation, Ambassador Ismail Al-Mutawakel, focused on reviewing the activities implemented by each MSF organization during the year 2025.
According to Yemen News Agency, the MSF representatives presented brief reports highlighting their adherence to a green economy and renewable energy approach in their projects across various countries, including Yemen. During the meeting, the Foreign Minister emphasized MSF’s standing as a respected international humanitarian organization that operates independently of political influences, particularly those from donor nations like the United States. He noted that MSF organizations are financed through individual donations, allowing them the autonomy to prioritize humanitarian services in the health sector without external restrictions.
Minister of Health and Environment Dr. Ali Shaiban commended MSF for their effective health assistance, particularly in remote, underserved areas. The MSF mission heads reaffirmed their commitment to remain in Yemen to execute their 2025 project plans in collaboration with the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Health, as well as local authorities. They also expressed their readiness to respond to emergencies, referencing their swift action during the previous year’s flood disaster in Hudaydah, Mahwit, and Dhamar.
