Sana'a: A meeting was held in the capital Sana'a on Tuesday, bringing together the Undersecretaries of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for International Cooperation, Ambassador Ismail al-Mutawakil, and the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor for Services and Social Welfare, Mohammed Aqabat, along with representatives of international organizations. The meeting focused on discussing mechanisms for unifying beneficiary lists for humanitarian aid and enhancing joint coordination to ensure fair and transparent distribution.
According to Yemen News Agency, Ambassador al-Mutawakil affirmed that the government has adopted a plan to unify beneficiary databases, coordinating with the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Social Affairs and Labor, the Zakat Authority, and other relevant entities. He explained that this approach aims to avoid duplication and ensure that aid reaches those who are entitled to it without injustice or exclusion of any segment of needy society.
The Undersecretary for Cooperation at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stressed the importance of forming a joint committee to address any issues that may arise during implementation and to streamline operations to minimize distribution problems. For his part, the Undersecretary for Services and Social Welfare confirmed that the working teams are operating within a joint coordination room to collect data from the field, ensuring the accuracy and comprehensiveness of the lists.
He indicated that this coordination will contribute to managing the distribution process in an organized manner and ensuring that aid reaches the largest possible segment of the population according to priority and need criteria.
