Sanaa: The Ministry of Economy, Industry, and Investment has confirmed that the country’s strategic stockpile of essential goods, particularly wheat, remains stable and sufficient for several upcoming months.
According to Yemen News Agency, the Ministry reassured citizens that the strategic reserves of basic commodities are secure due to prior planning, directives from the revolutionary and political leadership, and ongoing support for importers and their allocated supply quotas.
The Ministry’s statement highlighted its active monitoring of social media discussions regarding the national supply situation. It emphasized that the import system operates under an organized mechanism to ensure fair and transparent distribution of quotas among all approved importers, following a set schedule. This system ensures equity among importers, maintains a steady and consistent flow of goods into local markets, and prevents disruptions that could impact the availability of non-essential commodities.
Additionally, the Ministry affirmed its commitment to continuously monitoring importer performance and providing necessary facilitation measures. It also urged citizens to avoid being misled by rumors and to seek accurate information from official sources.
