Sana'a: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates affirmed that the outcomes of the emergency Arab-Islamic summit held yesterday in Doha were disappointing, falling short of the hopes and expectations of Arab and Muslim peoples and failing to match the existential threat posed by the Israeli occupation entity to the entire region.
According to Yemen News Agency, the ministry stated that the summit did not adopt serious, practical measures to compel Israel to comply with international law, end its aggression and siege on Gaza, or halt its threats against regional states. The statement highlighted that Arab and Muslim populations expected strong summit decisions, including cutting diplomatic and trade relations with Israel, enforcing a comprehensive boycott, breaking the siege on Gaza, and supporting the steadfastness of the Palestinian people and their fighters.
The ministry noted that while the Doha Summit convened, Palestinian blood was being shed in Gaza, and the United States sent a message asserting Israel was not alone. Even before the summit resolutions were finalized, the Israeli army had launched a ground invasion to control Gaza City.
The statement stressed that the failure of Arab and Islamic summits to produce decisive and practical resolutions encourages Israel to continue the extermination of the Palestinian people in Gaza, attack other regional states, and weakens the position of other countries regarding this humanitarian cause.
The ministry praised the early positions adopted by some non-Arab and non-Islamic countries in support of the Palestinian cause, contrasting them with the limited responses of close Arab and Islamic states, which did not go beyond condemnation. However, the ministry lauded the commendable positions of certain Islamic countries, particularly Malaysia and Pakistan, which proposed practical steps that could have an impact if received seriously by participating states.
It concluded by reiterating that past experiences confirm that Israel understands only the language of force, and that rights are not reclaimed through statements or symbolic positions but through practical action and strict, deterrent political stances. The ministry reaffirmed Yemen's continued support for Gaza and its people, using all available means and regardless of sacrifices, until the aggression and siege imposed by Israel are ended.
