Ministry of Transport Condemns Road Closures in Taiz

Taiz:The Ministry of Transport and Public Works has condemned the closure of roads and blockades of vital routes in Taiz Governorate, describing the actions as dangerous and escalatory.

According to Yemen News Agency, these closures, attributed to the Saudi enemy and its mercenaries, include 14 vital roads and arteries. Among the affected routes are the Al-Qasr Roundabout crossing, roads from Sanaa through Dhamar, Ibb, Al-Qa'idah, and Al-Hawban, as well as roads leading to Al-Rahidah, Al-Barh, Al-Mukha, Al-Aqroud, and Al-Maqatarah. The Ministry views these actions as a declaration of war, directly impacting thousands of residents and travelers.

The Ministry criticized claims by enemy media and proxies that cite military necessity and safety concerns as justifications for the blockades, dismissing them as flimsy pretexts. It argued that these actions amount to collective punishment, restricting citizen movement and access to essential services.

Highlighting the economic and humanitarian impact, the Ministry accused the aggressors of premeditated intent to strangle the local economy. It condemned the use of civilian roads for military purposes as a violation of international humanitarian laws and norms.

The Ministry urged the people of Taiz Governorate and all travelers to be aware of the alleged plot by the Zionist-Saudi alliance, which aims to fragment Yemen's geography and social fabric. It expressed confidence that such hostile practices would be overcome by the resilience and awareness of the governorate's residents and the Yemeni people.
