Sana'a: Mohammed Abdul Salam, the head of the national negotiating delegation, described the recent aggressive raid on Sana'a International Airport as a stark reminder of Saudi Arabia's persistent decision to keep the airport closed, stating that it will only reopen with royal consent.
According to Yemen News Agency, Abdul Salam remarked that the raid serves as a clear indication of Saudi Arabia's firm stance on controlling the airport's operations, while simultaneously claiming to defend Yemeni sovereignty. He drew a parallel between Saudi actions and those of Israel, suggesting that both nations share a similar approach characterized by deceit, arrogance, and aggression.
Abdul Salam further highlighted that Saudi Arabia's strategy of hiding behind manipulated data and unjust United Nations resolutions, driven by its oil interests, fails to conceal the harsh reality of the ongoing blockade imposed on Yemen. He emphasized that this blockade is part of a larger campaign initiated by Saudi Arabia, which has been engaged in an eight-year conflict in Yemen. Despite failing to achieve its objectives through warfare, Saudi Arabia is now attempting to compensate for its shortcomings through economic sanctions.
He warned that Saudi Arabia's refusal to acknowledge the changing dynamics and its continued defiance would have severe repercussions not only for Yemen but also for Saudi Arabia's own security and economic stability. Abdul Salam concluded by asserting that the naval blockade is just the beginning of what he described as a "battle of siege by siege," reiterating the determination of the Yemeni people to reclaim their rights by any means necessary.
