Sana'a: Mohammed Ali al-Houthi, a member of the Supreme Political Council, has declared that the actions of the Israeli forces in Gaza amount to full-fledged terrorism and ongoing genocide. In a conversation on Russia Today's "Newsmaker" program, al-Houthi emphasized the support that these actions receive from both the United States and Europe, while highlighting the silence from Arab nations.
According to Yemen News Agency, al-Houthi reiterated Yemen's commitment to supporting Gaza, emphasizing that Yemen has multiple options to assist the Palestinian people. He warned against violating Yemen's decision to prevent ships from reaching Israeli-occupied ports, stating that such actions equate to complicity in terrorism.
Al-Houthi urged Arab and Islamic governments to take a definitive stand against what he described as the crimes of the Israeli government. He further warned that the aggression currently evident in Gaza, Syria, and Lebanon could soon spread to other nations in the region, including Egypt, Jordan, or any Gulf state.
He called upon the international community to hold the Israeli leadership accountable for the war crimes and genocide being committed against the people of Gaza. Al-Houthi expressed confidence in the negotiating abilities of Palestinian factions like Hamas and criticized the tactics of the Israeli government as attempts to mitigate global outrage.
In the interview, al-Houthi articulated Yemen's humanitarian and Islamic duty to oppose Israeli actions, despite the geographical distance. He confirmed that Yemen, led by the directives of the Leader of the Revolution and the armed forces, would continue to oppose the blockade on Gaza by any means necessary.
Addressing accusations of threatening international navigation through naval operations in the Red Sea, al-Houthi dismissed these claims as part of a media campaign. He clarified that operations do not target international navigation but focus on ships linked to Israeli interests heading to Palestinian ports.
Al-Houthi also confirmed that understandings with the United States, facilitated by Oman, remain in place, ensuring that American ships and warships in the Red Sea will not be targeted unless provoked. He reaffirmed Yemen's commitment to these agreements while maintaining readiness to respond if necessary.
