MSX Index Rises for Seventh Consecutive Week

Muscat: The Muscat Stock Exchange extended its gains last week, with the main index rising for the seventh consecutive week, driven by gains in banking, industrial, service, investment, and energy stocks. According to Yemen News Agency, the main index closed the week at 7,647 points-an increase of 19 points. Over the past seven weeks, the index has climbed more than 530 points, buoyed by improving domestic economic indicators and rising profits among listed companies. Sectoral indices recorded collective gains, led by the industrial sector index, which rose 130 points to close above the 9,940-point mark. The financial sector index climbed 123 points to reach approximately 13,560 points, while the services sector index rose 17 points. Additionally, the Sharia-compliant index increased by 5 points, closing at 622 points. The total market capitalization of the Muscat Stock Exchange rose to OMR 39.4458 billion by the end of last week's trading, marking a weekly gain of OMR 530.6 million. During the week, 45 s ecurities recorded price increases, while 29 saw their prices decline, and 24 remained unchanged.
