Muscat Stock Exchange Closes Lower with Significant Trading Value Decline

Muscat: The Muscat Stock Exchange "30" index witnessed a decrease on Thursday, closing at 8,162.84 points. This marks a drop of 70.15 points or 0.85% compared to the previous trading session, which concluded at 8,233 points.

According to Yemen News Agency, the trading value also experienced a significant decline, reaching 44,925,205 Omani riyals. This reflects a decrease of 32.75% compared to the last session's trading value of 66,800,546 Omani riyals. The Muscat Stock Exchange's report highlighted a decrease in market capitalization by 0.482% from the last trading day, bringing it to approximately 37.97 billion Omani riyals.

The exchange also saw activity from non-Omani investors, with purchases valued at 1,578,000 Omani riyals, constituting 3.51% of the total. However, non-Omani sales were significantly higher, amounting to 5,529,000 Omani riyals or 12.31%. This resulted in a decrease in non-Omani net investment by 3,951,000 Omani riyals, or 8.80%.
