Sanaa:According to Yemen News Agency, Nasser Al-Mahdhar, Deputy Minister of Local, Rural, and Administrative Development, has called on residents of Yemen's southern and eastern provinces to resist being influenced by what he terms the agenda of Saudi Arabia and its agents. He emphasized the importance of viewing Saudi Arabia as a common adversary for all Yemenis.
Al-Mahdhar, in a statement, highlighted the religious and national duty of scholars and tribal leaders in these regions to caution their communities against participating in a conflict that does not align with their interests. He appealed to these leaders, social figures, and residents to reject calls for proxy fighting and to avoid turning their weapons against fellow Yemenis in the northern provinces, noting that they all endure the same struggles against occupation and foreign domination.
He reassured the people in what he referred to as the occupied provinces that the Yemeni armed forces are not targeting them. Instead, their focus is on confronting Saudi Arabia and its allies, whom he accuses of imposing a blockade and escalating tensions while exploiting Yemen's resources.
Al-Mahdhar concluded by stating that the true battle is against occupation and foreign control, not against the people of the southern and eastern provinces. He urged all Yemenis, regardless of their region, to unite against foreign intervention, stressing their shared religious and national responsibilities.
