Hodeida:The National Human Rights Commission has issued a strong condemnation against Saudi airstrikes targeting civilian sites in the Hodeida and Taiz provinces.
According to Yemen News Agency, the commission reported that Saudi warplanes attacked food- and fuel-loaded trucks at the Ras Isa commercial port in Hodeida and a Yemen Petroleum Company station in the Bajil district. These strikes resulted in the injury of seven workers and drivers, set several trucks ablaze, and destroyed fuel tanks.
Furthermore, the commission noted two airstrikes on the Al-Hajma and Al-Siha Mountain passes, which connect Taiz and Lahj, along with another attack on the road through Al-Maqatirah. These actions were described as efforts to cut off main routes and tighten the siege on Taiz.
The airstrikes were characterized as war crimes under international humanitarian law by the commission, which accused Saudi Arabia of targeting protected civilian infrastructure and disrupting vital supplies of food, fuel, medicine, and humanitarian aid. The commission has urged the UN Special Envoy's office and the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs to condemn these attacks, especially the strike on Ras Isa port, a crucial point for humanitarian imports.
