Taiz:The National Women's Committee has condemned a grievous act committed by Saudi-allied mercenaries in Taiz Governorate involving the desecration of a martyr's body from the Armed Forces. This act included stripping the body of clothing and filming the incident, which was then disseminated across various media and social media platforms.
According to Yemen News Agency, the Committee emphasized that this act is a blatant violation of Islamic Sharia principles, international humanitarian law, and international charters and treaties prohibiting the mutilation of bodies in armed conflicts. The Committee stated that the documentation and dissemination of the act amount to "psychological and social terrorism," specifically targeting Yemeni families, particularly affecting the mothers, wives, daughters, and sisters of the martyrs.
The statement highlighted that such actions are intended to disrupt social cohesion and inflict psychological harm on Yemeni women, who are seen as key to societal resilience. The Committee noted that these actions are foreign to Yemeni societal norms and values and reflect the moral decline of those involved, while illustrating the threat posed by the *takfiri* ideology promoted by the "aggression coalition" in occupied regions.
The Saudi regime and the aggression coalition are held fully accountable for this crime and other similar offenses perpetrated under their auspices. The Committee called on the United Nations, the Human Rights Council, and other international bodies to condemn this psychological and social terrorism and to document such violations as war crimes.
Furthermore, the National Women's Committee urged national judicial and security authorities to take the necessary legal steps to document the crime and ensure those responsible are held accountable. They conveyed support to the martyr's family and all families of martyrs and prisoners, asserting that such acts would only strengthen the resolve and awareness of Yemeni families and women about the challenges facing their nation.
The Committee reaffirmed that Yemeni women would continue to uphold national values and morals, undeterred by these crimes.
